Steven is the Technical Architect and Project Lead for Volcano City’s Live Streaming department.
After graduating from university with a BSc in Music Technology, Steven joined the Volcano City team in 2010 as a Sound Engineer, but quickly developed his skill-set to meet the needs of our fast-moving and ambitious company, encompassing many aspects of broadcast engineering and technology. In his time with Volcano City, Steven has designed and implemented cutting-edge live streaming solutions for our clients, deploying complex technical workflows, leveraging both custom-built encoding hardware and cloud infrastructure.
A detail-orientated technologist, Steven is responsible for ensuring that Volcano City remains at the forefront of the constantly-evolving Live Streaming industry.
In addition, Steven has served as Production Manager for live webcasts in over 10 countries, sometimes coordinating up to three simultaneous international events. He has also been the Key Account Manager for media agents of celebrity clients including Rafa Nadal, Neymar Jr. and Katy Perry and has helped produce high calibre productions which were reviewed under intense scrutiny and attracted global attention.

Variety. I get to work across all aspects of the business – from helping steer the direction of the company, to working with clients, to hands-on building of Live Streaming systems in our workshop.

Virtual and Augmented Reality live streaming is really exciting and has huge implications for the future of entertainment

Zero. Coffee is for the weak!
Interesting fact about you?
I’ve developed an unexpected passion for distance running and am currently training for my sixth half-marathon.
What inspires you generally?
Progress. I love seeing new developments in technology and the impact it can have on the world.
